Mechatronic innovation for canning valves

We offer a complete range of electronic valves for industrial applications, useful for beverage can filling.
From the more standard floating-core models to those with mechatronic technology, filling valves are divided into two main families: with a traditional ON/OFF flow control system or with advanced electronic control and firmware specifically designed for the application. This latter development allows superior performance and greater management flexibility compared to plants with a traditional gravitational valve for beer, as well as significant CO₂ savings compared to those with isobaric valves.
The materials used in their construction allow their use with different types of food-grade liquids, mainly carbonated but also hot liquids.

Active Flow line, filling valve with custom ODL firmware

Active Flow is the smart valve for beer filling in cans that takes advantage of ODL’s new mechatronic technology. It automatically ensures fast filling without the need for vacuum and with CO₂ savings of up to 80% compared to isobaric plants. Customizable, it optimizes performance even under variable operating conditions, maintaining oxygen pick-up as required.

Questions & Answers

The Active Flow valve has been designed to maintain maximum efficiency even without applying isobaric technology. A lager beer reaching the valve at a temperature between 0°C and 3°C can be filled in less than 5 seconds.

The ODL Active Flow valve and the ODL PX 2 valve line are able, during filling, to generate the amount of foam necessary to preserve the organoleptic properties of the beer before the can lid closing phase by seaming. In particular, the Active Flow valve is able to instantly measure the parameters in order to optimize filling speed while maintaining the desired foam level.

Thanks to our Active Flow technology, you can reduce the use of carbon dioxide by up to 80% compared to an isobaric plant, with significant economic savings and a more eco-sustainable plant.
