Carbonation systems and high-performance CO2 carbonators

Carbonators are components designed for the production of ready-to-use sparkling water. The carbonation process, which takes place inside them, involves the inlet of cooled and filtered still water and the controlled injection of carbon dioxide, obtaining sparkling water made available through one or more dedicated outlets.

Our range of carbonators for professional and domestic use covers a wide variety of application needs: from ultra-compact models for domestic use to Horeca carbonator versions designed for machines installed in offices, restaurants and bars, up to carbonators for vending machines. The larger beverage carbonators are ideal for public water distribution systems, such as public water houses, or for professional systems used in the distribution of soft drinks for large communities such as in cinemas, exhibition centers, and during large events and exhibitions.

At ODL, we offer one of the most complete ranges of CO2 carbonators on the market, with different volume capacities, types of connections, and advanced construction features. According to our customers’ needs, we can offer and customize solutions that integrate coils or chambers dedicated to cold water storage inside the carbonator. Thanks to our experience, we are able to offer technical consultancy and co-design development to optimize the performance of customers’ machines or to study new application solutions.

Strict testing

Every ODL product undergoes thorough testing with precision machinery and standard procedures; we test 100% of units for tightness, the operation of the non-return valves, and we carry out sample checks of the opening pressure of the safety valves on every batch. We periodically perform destructive tests to verify burst pressures. We regularly conduct life and performance tests in our laboratories

Stainless steel carbonators

This is the ODL carbonators family whose structure is entirely made of stainless steel, guaranteeing strength, hygiene and corrosion resistance. Inlet and outlet connections can be in steel or technopolymer, according to application requirements. A wide range of capacities and configurations are available, designed to offer customized performance, including versions with integrated coils for cold water and soda recirculation, or with double chamber for advanced thermal management.

Plastic top and bottom stainless steel carbonators

This is the carbonators family with ODL patented technology offering an excellent performance-cost ratio, and it is the ideal solution for both residential and commercial applications. Their external structure is entirely made of stainless steel, modular in height, while the lower and upper parts are molded in plastic.

Features:

  • Standard diameter: Ø 89 [mm]
  • Other custom diameters are available and/or can be produced in accordance with the application features and the specifications of the final project
  • Standard heights from 120 [mm] to 400 [mm]
  • The inlet/outlet connections are in technopolymer, of the quick-connect type for tubes of various diameters, orientable and available in elbow or vertical versions
  • All ODL carbonators are NSF certified

Stainless steel carbonators with plastic head

This is the ODL carbonators line whose lower structure is entirely made of stainless steel, modular in height, while the upper part is molded in plastic. They combine the practicality of the molded head with the strength of the steel structure.

Features:

  • Standard diameter: Ø 89 [mm]. Other custom diameters are available and/or can be produced in accordance with the application features and the specifications of the final project
  • The inlet/outlet connections are in plastic fixed in the upper part
  • The carbonator family with plastic head is SK approved
  • All ODL carbonators are NSF certified
  • Excellent for processing with cast aluminum block

Horizontal carbonators

This is ODL’s range of carbonators designed to integrate into dispensing systems and transform mains water into sparkling water. Their specific configuration allows operation in both vertical and horizontal positions, making these carbonators suitable for domestic and Horeca applications, post-mix systems, and installations for large communities.
The tank body is entirely made of stainless steel, ensuring strength, hygiene, and corrosion resistance. The carbonators can be supplied with or without mounting brackets, depending on specific application requirements.

  • The tank body is entirely made of stainless steel and is equipped with a bottom closure cap
  • The product is available with or without mounting brackets, depending on installation requirements

The carbonation level that a beverage machine can guarantee depends on numerous factors. To optimize machine performance, a correct matching of its components is necessary, including the CO2 carbonator. Yes, all ODL carbonators undergo accurate industrial washing procedures; however, adequate washing and subsequent sterilization by the customer are always required after installation in the system, and in any case before contact with food after long periods of inactivity. During installation and maintenance, it is necessary to ensure that the substances used for cleaning and sterilization are compatible with the materials of which the carbonators are made.
